Wild Napa lecture series: Raptors
Birds of prey such as hawks, falcons and owls are a key factor to the continued health of our watershed and the health of our farmland. The November lecture in the Wild Napa series featured a presentation about these fascinating birds by John Comisky and Carol Poole of the Wildlife Rescue Center of Napa County, and a visit with two ambassadors: Maddy the red tailed hawk and Posey the opossum.
Starting in December, these lectures will be held at the Napa Library. Join us on Wednesday, December 9th at 7:00pm for a lecture on steelhead and salmon by Jonathan Koehler, Napa County Resource Conservation District (Napa RCD).
Thank you Black and White Center for hosting us through November! Friends of the Napa River is thrilled to be co-sponsoring this informative lecture series along with Napa RCD, Watershed Information Conservation Council, Napa Valley Vintners, Carolyn Parr Nature Center, The Black and White Center, and Napa Bookmine. These lectures are free, though donations are welcome.
