Wild Napa Lecture Series: Wildlife and Restoration – Wednesday, September 14th 7:00 pm – What’s happening locally to enhance habitat for wildlife and improve the health of our waterways? Staff at the Napa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District have spent countless hours in our riparian corridors, observing how wildlife use and respond to riparian restoration. Join us for a presentation of photos, videos, and stories from those who work every day to improve the Napa River. This monthly lecture series about Napa’s wildlife and habitats takes place on the second Wednesday of each month at the Napa County Library, 580 Coombs Street, Napa at 7:00 pm. These lectures are free, though donations are invited to help keep the series going.
Coastal Cleanup Day: Saturday, September 17th, 9am – 12pm Clean up our streets and creeks by collecting litter during the annual International state wide volunteer event, Coastal Cleanup Day. There are 7 sites in the City of Napa, multiple sites in American Canyon, as well as sites in St. Helena, Calistoga, and Lake Berryessa. Friends of the Napa River will host the site at Kennedy Park. River Concert for Friends at CIA Copia, Saturday October 8th 6:00-8:00 pm. Fundraiser and concert benefiting Friends of the Napa River. Join old friends and new friends riverside in the newly redesigned amphitheater at CIA COPIA featuring a concert by our fabulously talented Napa Youth Symphony and special guests, delectable food prepared by the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), beer and our wonderful Napa Valley wines.Tickets will go on sale on EventBrite on Thursday, September 1 at 8:00 a.m. General Admission tickets for the concert are $25 and include a commemorative glass and one beverage. Food and additional beverages available for purchase. A very limited number of VIP tickets are also available and include a wine reception and festive after-party hosted by the CIA: be the FIRST to celebrate in the redesigned restaurant at CIA Copia! California Native Plant Society Sale and Wildflower Show, on Saturday and Sunday, October 15 & 16 from 10:00-4:00 at Skyline Park. Over 1,000 hard to find native plants will be available for sale at Napa’s Skyline Park Social Hall, ready for fall planting in your garden. Special Presentation on landscape design and using native plants in the garden on Saturday, October 15th at 11:30.
